Obesity and Overeating the Shocking Facts



Overeating among adolescents is associated with a number of adverse behaviours and negative psychological experiences.

Overeating can be traced back in human evolutionary history. Obesity is bad news for both body and mind. Obesity is on the rise in our society because food is abundant and physical activity is optional.

Obesity is defined as having a body mass index (BMI) of greater than 30. Being obese is considered a chronic (long-term) disease, like high blood pressure or diabetes.

Obesity refers to an increase in total body fat. Obese may be more likely to become depressed, and people who are depressed may be more likely to become obese.

Being overweight is bad news for both body and mind. Obesity is associated with breathing problems that can make it harder to keep up with friends, play sports, or just walk from class to class.

Obesity is a term used to describe body weight that is much greater than what is considered healthy. It can happen when you eat more calories than you burn off over a period of time. It has has now become one of the most serious medical problems of the western world. Obesity is a risk factor in a number of chronic diseases, including diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and cancer.

Compulsive overeating is characterized by an addiction to food. Compulsive overeater’s use food as a way to cope with stress, emotional conflicts and daily problems. Emotional eating has to do with how many hours you spend preoccupied with thoughts about what you are eating and what you look like.

Dieting has turned millions of us into food junkies, making compulsive eaters who grow fatter every year. Dieting and bingeing can go on forever if the emotional reasons for the bingeing is not dealt with. Diets never, ever solve eating and weight problems. Your body weight may also affect food cravings.

If you have belly fat this can make you eat more food so the latest research says. All the more reason to lose weight.
