How long does it take to feel better after Lap Band surgery?

I can’t help my mom b/c I have too many kids and a my grandmother to care for. My family work all day. She hates meds , but the pain is bad. Had surgery on 1/29/2007. But my dad checks on her once aday and gives her, a shot . I call and she doesn’t answer the phone the all time. Some help me?
