I wouldn’t do it if I were you. Eat right. Eat less, move more. If you don’t learn to control your own eating, you’ll only go back to eating the same after surgery and there goes your money.
There is a “lapband” group on Yahoo. Check it out.
I had the roux en y gastric bypass. The surgery has been most helpful in helping me get my weight down and keep it that way. Consult your doctor about it. There are guidelines that must be met prior to approval and to even be considered. See if there is a support group in your area. I moderate a group in my area and we welcome people who are considering the surgery and in all phases.
Most importantly talk to the doctor. It is not an easy decision to make and it is not an easy life afterward, despite what people think. The surgery is a tool, not a solution. You are the solution.
