A somewhat new strategy to combat obesity, now being used by both adults and
youth, is to have a gastric-bypass surgery (weight-loss surgery). Do you agree with the
use of such a tactic? Why or why not? Share your opinino and give a through and detailed opinion please

no i don’t think anyone should do this unles tehy have a medical problem. why do i think this? because if a person gets to 300 pounds and then uses the get skinny quick route, then whats to stop tehy from going right back to eating like they used to and becoming fat again?
we should be teaching children how to live healthier lifestyles, not showing them the easy way out. Parents should motivate their kids to exercise and eat healthy. I am stongly against it, especially for children. I belive getting the child involved in sports or a fitness camp would be a much better idea, becasue then their new found healthy way of living will follow them their whole lives. The younger you teach someone about health and fitness, the longer they will stick with it.
i had gastric bypass 5 years ago. it did great things for me (i lost 120 lbs and have run 4 marathons!) however, i get sick alot and have trouble eating certain types of food. It messed with my psyche for a while until i adjusted to my new lifestyle. I lost some friends and gained some new friends. i got very sick right after the surgery and had to have emergency surgery for adjustments. i still throw up alot and my skin is not the tightest from losing the weight so quickly. It is a MAJOR decision and should be a last resort. I suggest therapy prior to and after the surgery.
